PC CONFIGURATION

Access to the ICC system and Pilots Forum

To allow successful access to the area noted above, members are required to make a small alteration to their PC.

There are two possible configurations, it is your choice which you wish to use.

Method 1

The first is to add the BAV domains to your trusted sites list. This will simply allow the BAV server to set a "cookie" on your machine that will remember your login details.
To do this, in Internet Explorer, click Tools then Internet Options

A new window will appear with several "tabs" across the top. Click the Security tab, then select Trusted Sites

Click the Sites button in that window, and (yet another!) window will be displayed. This time, type in http://icc.bavirtual.co.uk and click Add

With the same window open, type in http://icc.bavirtual.org and click Add. Click OK on each open window to close them. Close down Internet Explorer, and re-open it, and miraculously, you'll now be able to access the ICC.
You will, however, receive a message saying you're entering a trusted zone. This message will be displayed every time you log into the ICC, which can get fairly annoying. Luckily, there's a way to stop it happening! If you want to remove this message, complete the following:-

In Internet Explorer, click Tools then Internet Options again ...

Once again, select Trusted Sites but this time, click the Custom Level button

Scroll down the list until you find Web sites in less privileged we content zone can navigate into this zone ... Click Enable under that option

Click OK and a new window will appear asking if you're sure you want to change this (You do ... do you really need to know every time you go to a site you trust?!)

Click OK again to close the Internet Options window, and you're done!

Method 2

The alternative method is to set your Internet Privacy settings are required to low.

1. To lower your settings open up Internet Explorer.
2. Select "Tools" and move your cursor down to Internet Options.
3. Select the "Privacy" Tab.
4. Move the slider down to LOW.

Accessing the British Airways Virtual website at you place of work
It is also possible that you may wish to login into BAV during your hours of work on a company computer.
We have heard from many members that you may experience problems if your company has a firewall setup...
As we do not govern your companies computers, this is purely out of our control.

Good Housekeeping
When was the last time you visited the Windows update website.? You would be surprised at the amount of people who do not bother.
You can download all the latest security updates and Windows enhancements to keep your PC protected and updated with new features.
If you constantly have trouble accessing our site, then maybe your PC needs an update.
